"Prayer"

I washed my soul in silence
In the light of God's perfect love. 
I cleansed my mind
In the blood of the Christ 
Meditating on things above.

I traversed the places that separate 
Myself from the throneroom of God. 
And I journeyed down passages 
That only His seekers
And angels are permitted to trod.

Holy Father, no peace can I muster 
When away from Your Spirit I roam.
All alone in transgression and sorrow 
When I wander from heaven and home.

You who keep me from death and from devils
Thou hast spared me from shame and despair.
You have loved me with oceans of peace and of calm 
What a miracle time is a prayer.
