Oct.25.00: Light For The Day - "Joy"

-- 1 Peter 1:8 (RSV)
"Without having seen Him you love Him;
though you do not now see Him you believe in
Him and rejoice with unutterable and exalted joy.

"Joy"

You and I walking hand and hand,
The Holy Spirit flowing across the land.
A picture of beauty and such magnificence,
A place of safety and utter trust.

Joy is a thing that's meant to flow,
To be always with you when you come and go.
It’s a holy thing, a thing of trust,
To go with power, joy is a must.

Joy is a deep commitment and love,
A vital link to the heaven above.
Here is the thing that's been left behind and missed,
Joy is as sweet as a heavenly kiss,
to rest on you like a morning mist.

To touch you lightly, to surround your being,
To change your focus, yes your seeing.
To take your eyes off the world, to put it aside,
And come with me on a heavenly ride.

The purpose of joy is to lift you out,
Of the way of the world and what it’s about.
To lift you up to heavenly realms,
To give you power to set the helm.

To steer your boat, to set the course,
To let your words go forth with force.
To stay the course steady and true,
Jesus life is the example I’ve given to you.

He walked his walk in power and might,
Always drawn by the heavenly light.
The Glory of God lit the way,
Through the word of the prophet to this very day.

So if you have questions and wonder in your heart,
Jesus is the best place to start.
The ultimate role model of what to do,
He gave his life just for you.

There is a link, a note so true,
It’s called the Word and I’ve given it to you.
Some things are hidden, you might say obscure,
But the walk of Jesus I made crystal clear.

He taught you how to say,
He even taught you how to pray.
How to heal the sick and raise the dead,
Do the works I do he said.

Man will do what he’ll do, as he’s always done,
But the Word has always pointed to the Son.
Follow me he was heard to say,
The choice is yours here and now today.

Consecrated, Holy and true,
The life of Jesus is my example to you.
A love letter from the Fathers heart,
It’s up to you I’ve done my part.
