Nov.29.00: Light For The Day - "Passing Stranger" -- Luke 18:37,38 (RSV) "They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by." 38 And he cried, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" -------------------- "Passing Stranger" He was just a passing stranger Traveling through the land Speaking words of peace and love To help his fellow man. I met this passing stranger Just a walking through the land He stopped for awhile to talk to me And he gave me a helping hand. He lead me through the wilderness And across the red, Red Sea He was just a stranger then But a friend he came to be. Then he said go on my friend While you're traveling through this land Just be a passing stranger With a helpful loving hand. Do the things that I have done And comfort your fellow man For you're just a passing stranger In a temporary land. Yes we're all just passing strangers In a foreign, foreign land We're finding our way through the deserts of life Here to do the best we can. So if you meet this passing stranger Full of love and gentleness It could be me or someone like me Or it could be Jesus. That passing stranger could be me Or it could be Jesus He was just a passing stranger Traveling through the land. -- Betty Johns --------------- -- Titus 3:14 (RSV) "And let our people learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not to be unfruitful." |
