Dec.07.00: Light For The Day - "Light In The Darkness"

-- Psalms 112:4 (RSV)
"Light rises in the darkness for the upright;
the LORD is gracious, merciful, and righteous."

---------------------
The upright will have days of darkness, sickness,
sorrow, poverty, and depression. Their wealth
may take wings and fly away, and even their
righteousness may be cruelly suspected by all.
Clouds may lower around them, but their gloom
will not last forever, because in due time
the LORD will bring light.

As surely as a good person's sun goes down,
it will rise again. If darkness is caused by
depression, the Holy Spirit will give comfort.
It there is financial loss or personal bereavement,
Christ's presence will give solace. If there is
cruelty and malignity, the LORD's sympathy will
give support.

It's as ordinary for the righteous to be comforted
as it is for the dawn. Wait for the light; it will surely
come. If our heavenly Father in our last hour puts
us to bed in the dark, it will be norning when we awake.

-- 1Peter 2:9,10 (RSV)
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, God’s own people, that you may
declare the wonderful deeds of him who called
you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
10 Once you were no people but now you are
God’s people; once you had not received mercy
but now you have received mercy."
