| Feb.27.01: Light For The Day - "What Do You See In Me?" -- John 15:16 (RSV) "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you." ----------------- "What Do You See In Me?" What do you see in me, Lord, That i do not see in myself? I know i'm not perfect, And i know i could use some help. The words that i speak so often Do not seem right. And sometimes i act so foolish In many another's sight. I feel i fall so short Of what you really want me to be. Help me, dear Lord, to see What it is you see in me. -- Gail L. Weiand ------------------------ -- 1 Peter 2:8-12 (NLT) "And the Scriptures also say, "He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that will make them fall. (Isa 8:14)” They stumble because they do not listen to God’s word or obey it, and so they meet the fate that has been planned for them. 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God’s holy nation, his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 “Once you were not a people; now you are the people of God. Once you received none of God’s mercy; now you have received his mercy.(Hos 1:6..)” 11 Dear brothers and sisters, you are foreigners and aliens here. So I warn you to keep away from evil desires because they fight against your very souls. 12 Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world." |
