Feb.28.01: Light For The Day - "I Will Give You Rest" -- Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened,  and I will give you rest.  29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,  for I am gentle and humble in heart,  and you will find rest for your souls.  30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” ----------------- A yoke is a heavy wooden harness that fits over the  shoulders of an ox or oxen. It is attached to a piece  of equipment the oxen are to pull. A person may be  carrying heavy burdens of  (1) sin,  (2) oppression and persecution, (3) Weary with the rounds of worldly pleasure and nauseated with vain glories and delusions of life, (4) Worn with ambition, corroded with disappointment, or embittered by the faithlessness of those you trusted. (5) Weariness in the search for God. ........ If your back is breaking, if your eyes are failing through weary watching and waiting, come to the Savior just as  you are. Jesus will be your rest. Jesus will free you from all these burdens. The rest  that Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with  God, not the end of all labor.
