| Apr.05.01: Light For The Day - "Walking On Water" It's is amazing what we can accomplish if we keep our eyes off our circumstances and on the One who is in control of them. --------------------- -- Matthew 14:25-31 (NCV) "Between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the water. 26 When his followers saw him walking on the water, they were afraid. They said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus quickly spoke to them, “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” 28 Peter said, “Lord, if it is really you, then command me to come to you on the water.” 29 Jesus said, “Come.” And Peter left the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. 30 But when Peter saw the wind and the waves, he became afraid and began to sink. He shouted, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught Peter. Jesus said, “Your have so little faith! Why did you doubt?” ------------------- Sometimes I'm like Peter, and I walk on water. I stand above my circumstances, which are like the swirling tempests of the sea. But then, like Peter, I take my eyes off Jesus and concentrate on things below. Soon I start to sink. How I long to have a consistent water walking eyes-on-Jesus Faith. -- Unknown ------------------------ -- James 1:5,6 (RSV) "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." |
