Mar.27.02: Light For The Day - "Easter"
-- 1 John 5:11-13 (NIV)
"11 And this is the testimony:
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has life;
he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know that you have eternal life."

An Easter poem
On Calvary many years gone by
Jesus made a choice;
He gave His life for all of us
For which we now rejoice.
Although we thank Him all year long
There's a special time set aside
To remember the sacrifice it was made
When for our sins He died.
Easter comes but once a year for us to celebrate;
The reason for the season is one to contemplate...
Ponder on the price He paid when He chose to follow through
On the mission God had sent Him to die for me and you.
Even Jesus had His moment when he had to go and pray
And ask His Father, "Do I have to?" He was heard to say.
But in the end He went on, the Father's will was done;
He endured the pain and humiliation, the victory still not won...
Until three days later when the stone was rolled away
As they searched the empty tomb very early in the day.
Their Master was nowhere to be found, they wondered where He'd gone;
They shook their heads in disbelief on that first Easter morn.
The angel gave the message "Fear not, for He is risen!
He's alive once again to free the world from all it's sin"
And this, my friend, is where the victory had begun;
Then and through the ages it always will be won...
Because the Son of God became the Son of Man;
He paid the price for all our sins...
That's how Easter all began

-- John 1:29 (NIV)
"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
"Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
-- Mark 16:5,6 (NIV)
"5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in
a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 "Don't be alarmed," he said.
"You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.
He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him."
-- 1 John 4:9 (NIV)
"This is how God showed His love among us:
He sent His one and only Son into the world
that we might live through Him.
10 This is love: not that we loved God,
but that He loved us and sent His Son
as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
