August.01.02: Light For The Day - "Body Of Christ"

I have gone through the Book of God, and wherever I have found
a man or woman of power, I have found a man or woman of prayer.
I have searched through the history of the Church and have found
some people who loved the liturgy and some who cared very little
for the liturgy; I have some who were Calvinists and some who were
Arminians; some who were rich and some who were poor;
but wherever in the history of the Church I have found a man or
woman of power, I have found God's children who knew how to pray.

Wherever Christians are willing to pray, power results. We may differ on doctrine -- some Christians reading this today are Baptist, some Pentecostals, some Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, C&MA, Arminians, Calvinists, Pre-Tribbers, Post-Tribbers, ... and just about anything else you can imagine. But beyond all those labels is the God of the Christian. The Father of all bothers and sisters who believe. And in every case, power comes when prayers is highly regarded.

Today, look around a the diversity in the body of Christ and thank God for them all -- even those with whom you disagree. Christians in countries where to be a Christian is a crime are united, not divided, by their faith in Christ. Will it take such drastic steps for that to happen to us?
