"God's Voice" -- Job 37:5 (NIVUS) "God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding." -------------------- How wonderful it is when God speaks to our hearts. He warns us of entrapments and consoles us in sadness. How satisfying to feel the warmth of His approval when we've done right. Sometimes we get so busy we unknowingly tune God out, just like flipping the switch on the car radio. He wants us to stay in tune. Each time we listen carefully for His still small voice throughout the day, we experience joy and peace. Then helps us avoid a lot of mistakes and heartaches. When we pray, we are tempted to whisper a quick prayer, jump up, and go about our duties. We assume God's power is with us. How can it be unless we have tuned in? I've caught myself doing this. It isn't long until my life becomes like one of the old 78 rpm records with the hole not quite in the center. How confusing everything is. I have learn a hard way to pause a little longer after I've said my part in praying, to let God speak to me. The communication goes both ways. When we listen, it completes the glorious circle in our friendship and love. The next time you pray, remember S.A.L. : STOP, ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, and LISTEN. Then we can go and serve. -- Anita C. Donihue ----------------------- -- Psalms 95:6-7 (NIVUS) 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; 7 for He is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under His care. Today, if you hear His voice." -- Jeremiah 33:1-3 (NKJV) "1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying, 2 "Thus says the LORD who made it, the LORD who formed it to establish it (the LORD is His name): 3 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' -- Psalms 119:149 (NIVUS) "Hear my voice in accordance with Your love; preserve my life, O LORD, according to Your laws."
