Aug.27.03: Light For The Day - "For Listening" --Psalms 54:2 (NIVUS) "Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth." --------------- It's the end of another long day, Lord. I'm curled in my quiet spot telling You all about it. Thank You for listening to me.  The things I said and feel may not always be right, but I am grateful for your hearing my every word.  Happy, sad, content, concerned. How understanding and compassionate You are, dear Lord.  How unquestioning is Your love.  Do you laugh over my funny experiences and silly whims?  Do You hurt when I share my sorrow with You?  I believe You do.  My love for You swells because of it. Each time I pray, You answer and encourage me.  You grant me help and strength.  When trial attach my life, You, Lord, help me through.  You not only listening, but buffer me from peril.  You help me escape before I face more than I can bear. When I can't feel Your presence, I launch out in faith and begin talking with You anyway.  I will not doubt Your presence, for I recall the many times You have been with me. So as I come to You with an open heart, my Lord, I quiet my thoughts.  I sense Your holy presence.  Then I talk.  And talk.  And talk! When I finally talked out,  You manage to put me in a place to listen - to You.  In simple quiet ways, You minister to my needs and fill me with peace and joy. Thank You, for listening to me, for helping me to hear Your still small voice. -- Anita C.
