June.21.04: Light for the Day - "Decisions"

-- James 1:5
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

----------------
When you're faced with tough decision, it's only natural to go to a friend for advice. Chatting openly with someone who knows you and your situation well can help you put the pros and cons of your options into clearer perspective. So, what could make more sense than spending time talking things over with the One who knows you better than anyone else?

God cares about the direction in which your life is headed.  The decisions you make each day help determine that direction.  Weighing your decisions by what's written in the Bible and using the wisdom God provides for the asking will not only help you determine right from wrong, but better from best.

-- Isaiah 11:2 -4 (The Wisdom of Christ)
"2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked."

-- 1 Corinthians 10:23
"Everything is permissible"- but not everything is beneficial.
"Everything is permissible"- but not everything is constructive.

He went out to the mountain to pray,
and continued all night in prayer to God.
