Aug.10.04: Light for the Day - "Infinity Patience"

-- 2 Peter 3:8,9
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends:
With the Lord a day is like a thousand years,
and a thousand years are like a day.
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise,
as some understand slowness.
He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance.

--------
God is often more patient with us than we are with ourselves.
We assume that if we fall, we aren't born again.
If we stumble, then we aren't truly converted.
If we have the old desires, then we must not be a new creation.

If you are anxious about this, please remember,
"God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure He will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again" (Phil. 1:6).

-- Max Lucado

----------
-- Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope,
Patient in affliction,
Faithful in prayer.

---------
-- Jeremiah 17:7
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in Him."

-- James 5:7,8
7 Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.
8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

-- Ecclesiastes 7:8
The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride.

-- Isaiah 32:17
The fruit of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

-- Ephesians 4:2
Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love.

-- Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

-- 2 Peter 3:15
Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation (the Lord is waiting so that people have time to be saved), just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

-- Ephesians 3:12
In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

-- Philippians 4:6,7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
