Aug.17.04: Light for the Day - "Clarity for Life-Purpose"
-- Psalm 126:5,6
5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.
6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him."
-- Romans 8:28
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Make the following prayer from Charles Haddon Spurgeon your prayer today. Commit all you have to God -- your time, your talents, your thoughts. Take His love as yours. Ask for clarity for your life purpose. Ask for singleness of eye. Ask how you may gather up the results of your prayers.
Lord, help me to glorify Thee.
I am poor, help me to glorify Thee by contentment.
I am sick, help me to give Thee honor by patience.
I have talents, help me to extol Thee by spending them for Thee.
I have time, Lord, help me to redeem it, that I may serve Thee.
I have a heart to feel, Lord, let that heart feel no love but Thine,
and glow with no flame but affection for Thee.
I have a head to think, Lord, help me to think of Thee and for Thee.
Thou hast put me in this world for something,
Lord, show me what that is, and help me to work out my life-purpose.
(Charles Haddon Spurgeon)

-- Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s heart,
but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
-- Psalms 57:2
I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills His purpose for me.
-- Psalm 25:4,5
4 Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.
-- Psalms 138:8
The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me;
Your love, O LORD, endures forever --
do not abandon the works of Your hands.
-- Psalm 127:1-3
1 Unless the LORD builds a house,
the work of the builders is useless.
Unless the LORD protects a city,
guarding it with sentries will do no good.
2 It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning
until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat;
for God gives rest to His loved ones.
3 Children are a gift from the LORD;
they are a reward from Him.
-- Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you;
Seek and you will find;
Knock and the door will be opened to you.
-- Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.
-- 2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly we are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
