Aug.25.04: Light for the Day - "Jesus Loves the Little Children"

13 Then little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

"Jesus Loves the Little Children"

There's my friend Jesus, holding a child. 
His loving face so tender and mild 
His smile really shows me His love. 
They tell me He's God, sent from above.

Since He wants to hold me in such a way, 
I just think about Him every day.
Jesus loves me this I know 
for the Bible tells me so.

I see Him in pictures and know it's true 
My teacher says, He loves you too.
Jesus loves the little children, like you and me 
All the children of the world, you see 

I talk to Jesus each and every day 
He always listens to what I say.
He speaks to me inside my heart, 
shows me what I should do to be smart.

Jesus is bigger than you or me 
Cause He's got the whole world in his hands.
You see I love to talk about Him with anyone I can, 
For Jesus is so easy to understand.

This little light of mine, I want to show. 
I won't hide it under a bush, oh no! 
Help me, my Jesus, to always think this way, 
No matter how old my body is today.

For my body feels old, but my mind feels young.
For in my heart, these songs are always sung.
