Sept.09.04: Light for the Day - "Joy"
-- Habakkuk 3:18
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

-------
Life need not be easy to be joyful.
Joy is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Christ.
-- William Van Der Hoven
-------
When a baby sees his mother's face, every part of his body wiggles, jiggles, and smiles with delight. His source of joy is the one he loves, the one he recognizes - even at an early age - the one who loves him in return.
Growing in your relationship with God is not just an exercise in getting to know the Bible better. It is all about getting to know God better, up close and personal. He wants to be the source of your joy and delight.
Even when circumstances are anything but happy, true joy is as close as God's loving presence. Spend time talking to Him, finding comfort in His promises and contentment in His love. There is no deeper joy this side of heaven.
-- G's D.A.
------------
Happiness depends on what happens;
Joy does not.
-- Oswald Chambers
Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God.
-- Leon Bloy
Joy is an unceasing fountain bubbling up in the heart;
a secret spring the world can't see and doesn’t know anything about.
-- Dwight L. Moody
-----------
-- Psalms 33:1
Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.

Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise His holy name.

May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in the
LORD.

47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
-- James 1:2-4
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
-- Romans 5:1-5
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and
rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that
tribulation produces perseverance;
4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
-- 3 John 1:4
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
-- Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
-- Ecclesiastes 11:9
Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.
-- Galatians 5:22,23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
-- Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
