June.13.05: Light for the Day - "Need a Lot More Help"

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
-- Galatians 5:22-25
22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will produce this kind of fruit in us:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and
self-control: against such there is no law.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there.
25 If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

DEAR LORD,
SO FAR TODAY, GOD,
I'VE DONE ALL RIGHT.
I HAVEN'T GOSSIPED,
HAVEN'T LOST MY TEMPER,
HAVEN'T BEEN GREEDY, GRUMPY, OR NASTY,
SELFISH OR OVER-INDULGENT.
I'M REALLY GLAD ABOUT THAT.
BUT,
IN A FEW MINUTES, GOD,
I AM GOING TO GET OUT OF BED
AND FROM THEN ON
I'M PROBABLY GOING TO NEED
A LOT MORE HELP.

4 Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
5 "I am the vine; you are the branches.
If a man remains in Me and I in him, He will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
