June 14.05: Light For The Day - "To Know The Father’s Heart."

-- Philippians 3:14
-15
14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

-----------------
"To Know The Father’s Heart."

Some shake the hands of presidents,
and ask for authors autographs.
Some quote the wisdom of poets,
or their age-old epitaphs.

Others travel to far-away places
chasing after fortune and fame.
Hoping to build their dreams,
or popularity for their name.

But I need not travel very far,
in an attempt to reach my goal.
For the One I choose to follow,
paid the ransom for my soul.

Each day I seek His wisdom,
and His purpose for my days.
I learn to trust His perfect plans,
and believe His perfect ways.

My life’s daily goal will be the same,
till my soul from earth departs.
I seek not the world’s approval,
but to know the Father’s heart.

-- Sheila Gosney.

-- Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.

-- Matthew 6:33-34
33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

-- 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

-- Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

-- Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
