Aug.16.06: Light for the Day - “The
School Prayer" (Viet)
(C)
(S)
(F)
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
17 Pray continually;
18 Give thanks in all circumstances,
For this is God’s Will for you in Christ Jesus.
-- Hebrews 4:16
Let us then Approach the Throne of Grace with Confidence,
So that we may Receive Mercy and Find Grace to
Help us in our Time of Need.
-----------------------------
Inspirational Moments
Prayer is so simple.
It is like quietly opening a door
And slipping into
The very Presence of God.
There, in the stillness,
To listen for His Voice,
Perhaps in petition
Or only to listen,
It matters not.
Just to be there,
In His Presence,
Is Prayer.

-- Jude 1:20
But you, dear friends, Build
yourselves up in your most
Holy Faith and Pray in the Holy Spirit.

THE NEW SCHOOL PRAYER
Now I sit me down in school
Where Praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For Praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's Name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
-- High School Teen
------------------------------
-- Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in The Way he should go,
and when he is old he will not Depart from it.
-- Deuteronomy 4:7-9
7 What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them
the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we Pray to Him?
8 And what other nation is so great as to have such
Righteous Decrees and Laws as this Body of Laws
I am setting before you today?
9 Only Be Careful, and Watch yourselves closely so that
you do Not Forget the things your eyes have seen or
let them slip from your heart as long as you live.
Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
------------------------------
" TEEN CREED "
Don't let your parents down;
They are bringing you up.
Be humble enough to obey;
You may give orders someday.
Always be careful.
When you drive;
Drive with Safety and Arrive.
Be master of your habits,
Or they will master you.
think uplifting thoughts;
what you think, you are.
Read good books,
And don't forget the "BOOK" (Bible).
Choose companions with care;
You become what they are.
Don't let the crowd tell you
It's the "IN" thing;
Stand for something or
You'll fall for anything.
Treat your date and
Yourself with respect;
You will never be sorry.
Get in the habit
Of Talking with God;
The payoff is out of this world!

---------------------
-- Psalms 119:9-11
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to God's Word.
10 I seek You with all my heart;
Do not let me stray from Your Commands.
11 I have hidden Your Word in my heart
that I might not sin against You.
--
Proverbs 29:17
Discipline your children, and they will give you peace;
They will bring delight to your soul.
-- Psalms 34:11
Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the Fear of the LORD.
-- Psalms 25:7
Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways;
according to Your love remember me, for You are good, O LORD.
-------------------------
-- Philippians 4:4-7
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it
again: Rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by Prayer and Petition, with
Thanksgiving,
Present your requests to God.
7 And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-- Romans 8:14-17
14 For those who are Led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you
received the Spirit of Adoption by Whom we cry out,
"Abba, Father."
16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs— heirs of God and co-heirs
with Christ, if indeed we share in His Sufferings in order that
we may also share in His Glory.
-- 1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are a Chosen people, a royal
priesthood, a Holy nation,
a people Belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of
Him
who called you out of darkness into His wonderful Light.
10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God;
once you had not received Mercy, but now you have
Received Mercy.
-- Psalms 107:1, 8
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is Good;
His Love endures forever.
8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing Love and
His wonderful Deeds for men.
-- Psalms 16:7-11
7 I will praise the LORD, Who Counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the LORD always before me.
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because You will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let Your Holy One see decay.
11 You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in Your Presence,
with eternal pleasures at Your Right Hand.
