Sept.01.06: Light for the Day - Free To Choose"

1:(Viet)  (C)  (S)  (F)     2:(Viet)  (C)  (S)  (F)

-- James 1:25
But if you keep looking steadily into God’s Perfect Law --
the Law that sets you Free --
and if you do what It says and don’t forget what you heard,
then God will Bless you for doing it.

-- John 8:31-36
31 Jesus said to the people who believed in Him,

"You are truly My disciples if you keep Obeying My Teachings.
32 And you will know the
Truth, and the Truth will set you Free."
36
"So if the Son sets you Free, you will indeed be Free."

-- 2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit,
and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is F
reedom.

---------------

Repeatedly in the Bible, both nations and individuals had to make
decisions affecting their futures -- and so do we. Sometimes they
made wrong choices and suffered the consequences as a result.

When we face decisions, we need to remember that God hasn't left us
in the dark, nor is He uninterested. God loves us, and He wants what is
best for us. He has a perfect path in life for us, and He wants us to
choose it instead of the wrong paths Satan would tempt us to follow.

Even when our way seems unclear, God gives us light. He gives us
His Word, the Bible -- and many of our decisions would be much easier
if we only knew its moral and spiritual principles. He also gives us
wisdom (sometimes through other people) to understand our situation,
and He gives us the Holy spirit to guide us.

Never make a decision without committing it to God and seeking His will.
He promises to guide you -- and He will.

-- Billy Graham

-- Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the
Plans I have for you," declares the LORD,
"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
Plans to give you hope and a future.
12 Then you will call upon Me and Come and Pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek Me and find Me
when you seek Me with all your heart."

-- Jeremiah 33:
2-3
2 This is what the LORD says, He who made the earth,
the LORD who formed it and established it -- the LORD is His Name:
3 ‘Call to Me and I will Answer you and tell you great and
unsearchable things you do not know.’

-- Psalms 25:4-5
4 Show me Your Ways, O LORD, Teach me Your Paths;
5 Guide me in Your Truth and Teach me,
For You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.

-- Proverbs 4:11
I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.

-- Proverb 16:9
In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.

-- Proverbs 2:6

For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

-- Isaiah 55:8-11
8 "For My Thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My Ways,"
   declares the LORD.
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My Ways higher than
your ways and My Thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it
without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields
seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

-- Psalms 119:137

Righteous are You, O LORD, and Your Laws are right.

-- Romans 11:33-36
33 Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are His riches and
wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand
     His decisions and His methods.
34 For who can know what the Lord is thinking?
Who knows enough to be His counselor? (Isa 40:13)
35 And who could ever give Him so much that he would have to pay
     it back? (Job 41:11)
36 For everything comes from Him; everything exists by His power
and is intended for His glory. To Him be glory evermore. Amen.

-------------------
-- John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name,
will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

-- John 15:26
But I will send you the Counselor -- the Spirit of Truth.
He will come to you from the Father and will tell you all about Me.

-- John 16:13-14
13 When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all Truth.
He will not be presenting His own ideas; He will be telling you what
He has heard. He will tell you about the future.
14 He will bring Me glory by revealing to you whatever He receives from Me.

-- 1 Corinthians 2:10-13
10  But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by
His Spirit, and His Spirit searches out everything and shows us
      even God’s deep secrets.
11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s
spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God
     except the Spirit of God.
12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is
from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in
words taught by the Spirit, expressing Spiritual Truths in Spiritual Words.

-- Joshua 24:15-22
15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for
yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your
forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
21 But the people said to Joshua, "No! We will serve the LORD."
22 Then Joshua said, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you
     have chosen
to serve the LORD." "Yes, we are witnesses," they replied.

-- 1 Kings 18:21

Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver
    between
two opinions?  If the LORD is God, follow Him;
but if Baal is God, follow him." But the people said nothing.

-- John 6:66-69
66 At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted Him.
67 Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, "Are you going to leave, too?"
68 Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom would we go?
You alone have the Words that give Eternal Life.

69 We believe Them, and we know You are the Holy One of God."

Giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
