"Fear and Faith"
(Viet)
(C)
(S)
(F)
-- Psalms 56:3
In the time of my
fear, I will have Faith in You.
-- Psalms 34:4
I Prayed to the LORD, and
He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
-- Psalms 25:12
Who, then, is the man that fears the
LORD?
He will teach him in the way chosen for him.
-- Psalms 143:8
Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love,
For I have put my Faith in You.
Show me the way I should go,
For to You I lift up my soul.
---------------
Great acts of Faith are seldom born out of calm calculation.
It wasn't logic that caused Moses to raise his staff on the bank of
the Red Sea.
It wasn't medical research that convinced Naaman to dip
seven times in the river.
It wasn't common sense that caused Paul to abandon the Law
and embrace Grace.
And it wasn't a confident committee that prayed in a small room in
Jerusalem for Peter's release from prison. It was a fearful, desperate,
band of backed-into-a-corner believers. It was a church with no options.
And congregation of have-nots pleading for help.
And never were they stronger.
At the beginning of every acts of Faith, there is often a seed of fear.
-- Max Lucado

-- Hebrews 11:6
And without Faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to Him must Believe that
He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
-- Luke 8:24-25
24 The disciples went and woke Him, saying, "Master, Master,
we’re going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and
the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.
25 "Where is your
Faith?" He asked His disciples.
In fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this?
He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey
Him."
-- Matthew 14:25-33
25 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them,
walking on the water.
26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the water,
they were terrified. "It’s a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them:
"Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid."
28 "Lord, if it’s You," Peter replied, "tell me to come to You on the water."
29 "Come," He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat,
walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink,
cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31 Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him.
"You of little Faith," He said, "why did you doubt?"
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying,
"Truly You are the Son of God."
-- Matthew 10:28
Do not be afraid of
those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul
and body in hell.
-- Acts 16:25
About midnight Paul and Silas were
Praying and singing hymns
to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
-- Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in
everything, by
Prayer
and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the Peace
of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-- Jude 1:20
But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most
Holy Faith
and Pray in the Holy Spirit.
-----------------------

-- Psalms 86:11-12
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in
Your truth;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your
Name.
12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify Your Name forever.
-- Psalms 5:8
Be my guide, O Lord, in the ways of
Your righteousness,
because of those who are against me;
make Your way straight before my face.
-- Proverb 3:5-8
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and
lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body and
nourishment to your bones.
-- Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

great wealth with turmoil.

but justice comes from the LORD.
-- Proverbs 22:4
The reward of a humility
and the fear of the Lord is
wealth and honor and long life.
