Dec.20.06: Light for the Day - "The
First Christmas" (Viet)
(C)
(S) (F)
-- Isaiah
7:14
Therefore the Lord
Himself will give you a sign:
The virgin will be with Child and will give birth to
a Son,
and will call Him Immanuel ("God
with us").
-- Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For to us a Child is born, to us a
Son is given, and the
government will be on His shoulders. And He will be
called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His Government and Peace there will be
no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over
His Kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and
righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish
this.

"The First Christmas"
Away in the manger, in Bethlehem,
A new little Baby was born
God sent His only Son Jesus to earth
A new day was ready to dawn,
The angels sang in the Heavens
A star shone so bright in the sky,
The shepherds left their sheep and ran
To see this wonder on high.
There was a light all around the manger
And it could be seen for miles,
The wise men arrived bearing gifts
Gold, frankincense and myrrh so fine,
Just as the gifts we give today
Are to honor the Lord Jesus' Birthday.
If I was born then and looked upon such beauty
The Baby Jesus would have smiled at me,
I may not have a gift of my own
I would offer my heart to Him
For He is Love alone.
There was much joy and gladness
When Mary had an angel come,
To tell her she had a pure heart
That God wanted her to bear His Holy Son.
The shepherds and wise men came
For they knew it was special for all
To celebrate the Lord Jesus, as God in human form.
Without Jesus
We would never have our sins taken away,
The little Baby Jesus would have smiled at me
I can see His smile when I am sad
And on Christmas day
He never leaves my side,
He is goodness and I follow His light
I look at the first Christmas as the miracle of new life.
I do not ask for gifts this Christmas,
I pray for Peace on earth and may it begin with me,
I feel very special in Jesus eyes
I feel His Love continually,
Let us remember the first Christmas
And care about the things Jesus wanted us to feel,
Touch, hold, kiss and forever grateful be.

-- Luke 2:13-14
13 And suddenly there was with the
angel a multitude of
the heavenly host praising God and
saying:
14 "Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth Peace, Goodwill toward
men!"

"I Wish"
I wish I could see how it was that night,
I've prayed about it before.
I'd like to feel and know and see
The night angels opened heaven's door.
I know the Words that were sung.
They are recorded in Holy Writ.
But the music itself, how did it sound?
If I could hear just a little bit.
The shepherds, I'd like to see them too,
Hasting down from the quiet hill.
Did they really know exactly where to go?
Or did they search and search until....
I'd like to see Mary so special, so pure,
And Joseph so honorable and so good.
How choice to meet them, to see them myself,
Oh, if only I could.
And the Baby, I know just how He would be.
His small face shining with a Godly soul.
Oh, if only, if only I could see.
Someday I will, on Father's scroll.

-- John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made
His dwelling among us.
We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and
Only,
Who came from the Father, full of Grace and Truth.
-- John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that He gave
His One and
Only Son, that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish
but have Eternal Life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world through
Him.

"The Gift of God"
Long before the day when Mary gave birth,
Before God formed man from the dust of the earth,
Before the stars into the heavens were hurled,
There was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Before the deadly fall of the race,
God's Plan of redemption was already in place.
His own Son would die on an old rugged cross,
To save His creation from eternal loss.
God foretold His coming from the opening book,
The Seed of the woman for whom we should look.
Abraham, Isaac, and the sacrificial ram,
Foretold the sacrifice of the great I AM.
The prophets proclaimed the place of His birth:
Bethlehem of Judea, where God came to earth.
His name did the prophets clearly foretell:
Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Immanuel.
In the fullness of time God's word came to pass,
The birth of the Savior to a young virgin lass.
His mission on earth was finally unfurled,
The Lamb of God, to take away the sin of the world.
The way to the Father was shown us by Christ,
He said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
He came to release the deathgrip of sin,
He went to the cross our redemption to win.
It was for our sin that He suffered and bled,
Yet triumphant, victorious, He rose from the dead.
Now seated in heaven He eternally lives,
Mercy and forgiveness freely He gives.
Salvation is promised to all who'll receive.
Trust the Lord Jesus and in Him alone believe.
Repent of your sin and for His mercy do plead,
And from sin, death, and hell you will surely be freed.
O this Christmas may your life truly start.
May the glory of God shine into your heart.
May the gift of God -- His Son Jesus Christ
Bring true peace and joy into your life.
And what can separate us from such wonderful love
So rich and so full from our great God above?
Nothing, no nothing, in all creation can part
The Lord Jesus Christ from a redeemed, trusting heart.

-- Luke 2:30-32
30 "For my eyes have seen Your
Salvation
31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
32 A Light to bring revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel."
-- Psalms 136:1-3, 26
1 Oh, Give thanks to the LORD,
For His Love endures forever.
2 Oh, Give thanks to the God of gods!
For His Love endures forever.
3 Oh, Give thanks to the Lord of lords!
For His Love endures forever:
26 Oh, Give thanks to the God of heaven!
For His Love endures forever.
-- Psalms 98:1-6
1 Sing to the LORD a new song,
For He has done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have worked Salvation for
Him.
2 The LORD has made His Salvation known and
revealed His righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered His love and His faithfulness to
the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen
the Salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy to the LORD,
all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn --
shout for joy before the LORD, the King.
