5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, 
   And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, 
   And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; 
   Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh, 
   And strength to your bones.
9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, 
   And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, 
     And your vats will overflow with new wine.

   And we know that all things work together for good to 
   those who love God, 
   to those who are the called according to His purpose.

The end of another year is approaching, and people are 
already predicting what the new year holds. A year from now 
most of them probably will have missed the target!

The fact is, no one knows the future - except God. We even 
know so little about the world in which we live. No doubt 
scientists will continue to uncover astonishing facts about 
the universe. But even then, they will know only a miniscule 
amount compared with the total sum of potential knowledge.

But God is infinite! He knows it all - because He created it in 
the first place. We will always be bewildered and confused by 
what we don't know, if we are honest. We don't even know our 
immediate futures; as James said, "You do not know what will 
happen tomorrow" (James 4:14).

What should this mean? It should give us humility before God, 
and it should give us Trust - Trust in the God who does know 
our futures, and who works all things for His glory. 
You can Trust all your tomorrows to Him!

13 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to 
     this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and 
     make money."
14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. 
     What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little

15 Instead, you ought to say, 
     "If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that."

   But those who Hope in the LORD will Renew their strength. 
   They will Soar on wings like eagles; 
   They will Run and not grow weary, 
   They will Walk and not be faint.

A New Year is Coming Soon 

Another Christmas has rolled around
Another year has passed
A new one now is coming near
And here twelve months to last

So many faces today I see
And Hope to see them still
Through all the year that's coming in
Let's pray it is Gods will. ...

Another year is dawning

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
In working or in waiting, another year with Thee.
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,
Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of Trusting, of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above.
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in heaven, another year for Thee.
