("Pray To Receive Christ")

-- Jeremiah 33:2-3
2 This is what the LORD says, He who made the earth,
the LORD who formed it and established it --
   the LORD is His name:
3 "Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great
and unsearchable things you do not know."

-- Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is
impossible, but with God all things are possible."

-- Mark 9:23

Jesus said to him, "If you can believe,
all things are possible to him who believes."

-- 2 Thessalonians 1:11

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our
God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by
His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours
and every act prompted by your Faith.

-- Hebrews 10:23-24
23 Let us hold unswervingly to the Hope we profess,
for He who promised is Faithful.
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another
on toward love and good deeds.

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers.
Pray for powers equal to your tasks.
Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle,
But you shall be the miracle.
-- Phillips Brooks

The word "miracle" sound strange in this day and age.
We have become too sophisticated to accept miracles
anymore. It is sad that we have lost such a wonderful idea.
A miracle used to be an event which was beyond simple
explanation and understanding. Many people say that
miracles don't happen anymore, if they ever did.

If only people would open their hearts and begin looking
more deeply than they are able with their eyes alone.
When we see a beautiful sunset, it effects more than just
our eyes. When we ponder the wonder of human life at birth,
we are experiencing much more than a mere sensory event.
The nighttime sky, the pounding surf of the ocean,
the laughter of a child: all of these are miracles in a sense,
and all of them are evidence of the wonder of God.
It is a special joy to see the world with eyes open to miracles,
and to feel life with a heart attuned to God's love.
If we understand God, then we must believe in His miracles.

Prayer: Make me a believer, Lord. Show me the multitude
of miracles you have created and are creating.
Let me understand creation the way you intended it. Amen.

-- D&ND

-- Ephesians 3:16-20
16 I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of
His glory. I pray that He would give you inner strength
   and power through His Spirit.
17 Then Christ will live in you through Faith. I also pray that
love may be the ground into which you sink your roots
and on which you have your foundation.
18 This way, with all of God’s people you will be able to
understand how wide, long, High, and deep His love is.
19 You will know Christ’s love, which goes far beyond
any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be
   completely filled with God.
20 Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us.
By this power He can do infinitely more than we can
   ask or imagine.
21 Glory belongs to God in the church
and in Christ Jesus for all time and eternity! Amen.

-- Bible: Miracles
The description of most miracles in the Bible are often
the same as the common definition of the word:
God intervenes in the laws of nature. God may suspend
or speed up the laws of nature to produce a supernatural
occurrence; God can create matter out of nothing;
God can breathe life into inanimate matter.

Jesus' miracles power: Cures, Exorcisms, Controlling
nature, Power over death, Supernatural knowledge, ...
Jesus can turn water into wine; Jesus can create matter
of out nothing, and thus turn a loaf of bread into many
loaves of bread, Jesus can revive the lives of people
considered to be dead. Jesus can rise from the dead.

-- Dictionaries: Miracle
1 An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature
and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.

2 An effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that
surpasses all known human or natural powers and is
ascribed to a supernatural cause. Such an effect or
event manifesting or considered as a work of God.

-- Quotations: Miracle

An act of God was defined as "something which
no reasonable man could have expected."
-- A. P. Herbert

If the grace of God miraculously operates,
it probably operates through the subliminal door.
-- William James

The miracles of the church seem to me to rest not so
much upon faces or voices or healing power coming
suddenly near to us from afar off, but upon our
perceptions being made finer, so that for a moment
our eyes can see and our ears can hear what is there
about us always.
-- Willa Cather

A miracle is an event which creates Faith.
That is the purpose and nature of miracles. . . .
Frauds deceive. An event which creates Faith does
not deceive: therefore it is not a fraud, but a miracle.
-- George Bernard Shaw

When we do the best that we can, we never know what
miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another.
-- Helen Keller

The most astonishing thing about miracles is that they happen.
-- G. K. Chesterton

Prophet who is to come into the world."

   the presence of His disciples,
which are not recorded in this book.

-- John 14:11-18
11 Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and
the Father is in Me; or at least believe on the evidence
   of the miracles themselves.
12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has Faith in Me will do
what I have been doing. He will do even greater things
than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name,
so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
14 You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.
15 "If you love Me, you will obey what I command.
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you
another Counselor to be with you forever --
17 the Spirit of truth. the world cannot accept Him,
because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.
But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.
18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

   miraculous powers?" they asked.
58 And He did not do many miracles there
because of their lack of Faith.

-- Mark 13:21-23
21 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, Here is
the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there He is!’ do not believe it.
22 For false Christs and false prophets will appear
and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect --
   if that were possible.
23 So be on your guard;
I have told you everything ahead of time.

-- John 10:25-29
25 Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe.
the miracles I do in My Father’s name speak for Me,
26 but you do not believe because you are not My sheep.
27 My sheep listen to My voice;
I know them, and they follow Me.
28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
no one can snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are One."
