(Home) (VN) (C1) (C2) (K) (S) (F) (It) (De) (Ar) ("Pray To Receive Christ") -- Colossians 4:2-4 2 Devote yourselves to Prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for the Word, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. National Day of Prayer Check your local Event (The first Thursday of May) (May.03.2007) "God Shapes the World By Prayers" The more Praying in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil everywhere. Prayer, in one phase of its operation, is a disinfectant and a preventive. It purifies the air, it destroys the contagion of evil. Prayer is no fitful, short-lived thing. It is no voice crying unheard and unheeded in the silence. It is a voice that goes into God's ear, and it lives as long as God's ear is open to holy pleas, as long as God's heart is alive to holy things. God shapes the world by Prayers. Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the Prayers live before God, and God's heart is set on them and Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world. ~ E.M. Bounds ++++++++++++++++++++++ When we work, we work When we Pray, God Works ++++++++++++++++++++++ Heaven has many surprises in store for us. One of the best will be to see all that our Prayers accomplished in the advancement of God's kingdom. We can fashion future history through Prayer. Revivals such as the Great Awakening and the Welsh Revival early in the last century began, as do all revivals, through Prayer. Wars have been won through Prayer, Freedom has been secured through Prayer, and Peace has been maintained through Prayer. By Praying for our leaders, world events, our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, we help determine their destiny -- and ours. We may not live to see all the answers to our Prayers, but one day in heaven we'll see. There are many who Prayed years ago for us and our generation. They are now in heaven and they know what their Prayers wrought. Now it's our turn to Pray for the generations to follow. In our Prayers, we propel the church forward. ~ N.Harrison -- Luke 18:1 Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should Always Pray and Not Give Up. -- Romans 12:12 Rejoice in Hope, Patient in Affliction, Faithful in Prayer. -- Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, Build yourselves up in your most Holy Faith and Pray in the Holy Spirit. -- Philippians 4:6, 7 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by Prayer and Petition, with Thanksgiving, Present your requests to God. 7 and the Peace of God, which Surpasses all understanding, will Guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. -- 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 18 17 Pray without ceasing, 18 In everything Give Thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you. -- Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be Given to you; Seek, and you will Find; Knock, and it will be Opened to you. -- Matthew 6:9-13 9 This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. " (For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever. Amen.) -- Colossians 1:9-10 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have Not Stopped Praying for you and Asking God to Fill you with the Knowledge of His Will through all Spiritual Wisdom and Understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may Live a Life Worthy of the Lord and may Please Him in every way: Bearing Fruit in every Good Work, Growing in the Knowledge of God, 11 being Strengthened with all Power According to His Glorious Might so that you may have Great Endurance and Patience, and Joyfully 12 Giving Thanks to the Father, who has Qualified you to Share in the Inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of Light. -- Matthew 26:41 Watch and Pray so that you will Not Fall into temptation. Prayer is asking for the rain and faith is carrying the umbrella. ~ Anonymous If we would talk less and pray more about them, things would be better than they are in the world: at least, we should be better enabled to bear them. ~ J.Owen If the spiritual life be healthy, under the full power of the Holy Spirit, praying without ceasing will be natural. ~ A.Murray It is necessary to rouse the heart to pray, otherwise it will become quite dry. The attributes of prayer must be: love of God, sincerity, and simplicity. ~ J.Kronstadt He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life. ~ W.Law Cease to pray and thou will begin to sin. Prayer is not only a means to prevail for mercy but also to prevent sin. ~ W.Gurnall You can use your time to no better advantage than to pray whenever you have a moment, either alone, or with others, while at work, at rest, or walking down the street! Anywhere!! ~ O.K.O.Hallesby The reason why many fail in spiritual battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came...Anticipate your spiritual battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory. ~ R. A. Torrey The greatest privilege God gives to you is the freedom to approach Him at any time. You are not only authorized to speak to Him; you are invited. You are not only permitted; you are expected. God waits for you to communicate with Him. You have instant, direct access to God. God loves mankind so much, and in a very special sense His children, that He has made Himself available to you at all times. ~ W.L.Duewel Satan cannot deny but that great wonders have been wrought by prayer. As the spirit of prayer goes up, so his kingdom goes down. Satan's strategems against prayer are three. First, if he can, he will keep thee from prayer. If that be not feasible, secondly, he will strive to interrupt thee in prayer. And, thirdly, if that plot takes not, he will labour to hinder the success of thy prayer. ~ W.Gurnall The right way to pray is to stretch out our hands and ask of One who we know has the heart of a Father. ~ D.Bonhoeffer Great grief prays with great earnestness. Prayer is not a collection of balanced phrases; it is the pouring out of the soul. What is love if it be not fiery? What are prayers if the heart be not ablaze? They are the battles of the soul. In them men wrestle with principalities and powers...The prayer that prevails is not the work of lips and fingertips. It is the cry of a broken heart and the travail of a stricken soul. ~ S.Chadwick I cannot pray any more. As soon as I begin, my prayers are all turned into hallelujahs. I would have esteemed it a privilege if God had permitted me to spend my remaining days in supplications for my friends; but as soon as I open my mouth, it is all glory, glory, glory! ~ Anonymous Christian, at a very old age, on deathbed Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons; but they are helpless against our prayers . ~ J.S.Baxter Naturally, in striving for a time to pray, there will be arguments concerning our mission, duty, and responsibility. Some people will consider such devotion to prayer as neglecting our mission, forsaking our duty, and impairing our responsibility. The enemy will use such matters as duty and mission to create his best arguments for stopping our prayer. ~ Anonymous It is not the mouth that is the main thing to be looked at in prayer, but whether the heart is so full of affection and earnestness in prayer with God, that it is impossible to express their sense and desire; for then a man desires indeed, when his desires are so strong, many, and mighty, that all the words, tears, and groans that can come from the heart, cannot utter them. ~ J.Bunyan When thou prayest, rather let thy heart be without words than thy words without heart. ~ J.Bunyan |
