01.30.08: Light-for-the-Day - "God Knows Best" (Viet) (<<) (>>) (lftd.org) (VN) (C1) (C2) (Ko) (Sp) (Fr) (It) (De) (Ru) (Ar) ("Pray To Receive Christ") 2 Anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. 3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by God. -- Romans 8:28-29 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that His Son is the firstborn among many children. God Knows Best Our Father knows what's best for us, So why should we complain... We always want the sunshine, But He knows there must be rain. We love the sound of laughter And the merriment of cheer; But our hearts would lose their tenderness If we never shed a tear. Our Father tests us often With suffering and with sorrow; He tests us, not to punish us, But to help us meet "tomorrow." For growing trees are strengthened When they withstand the storm; And the sharp cut of the chisel Gives the marble grace and form. God never hurts us needlessly, And He never wastes our pain; For every loss He sends to us Is followed by rich gain. And when we count the blessings That God has so freely sent; We will find no cause for murmuring And no time to lament. For Our Father loves His children, And to Him all things are plain; So He never sends us "pleasure" When the "soul's deep need is pain." So whenever we are troubled, And when everything goes wrong, It is just God working in us To make "our spirits strong." -- Helen Steiner Rice -- Hebrews 12:2-7 2 looking unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our Faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? -- James 1:12-15 12 Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 No one, when tempted, should say, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil and He Himself tempts no one. 14 But one is tempted by one’s own desire, being lured and enticed by it; 15 then, when that desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and that sin, when it is fully grown, gives birth to death. -- Romans 5:1-5 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through Faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by Faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. -- Revelation 3:14-22 14 And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The words of the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 "I know your works; you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were either cold or hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spit you out of My mouth. 17 For you say, ‘I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing.’ You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 Therefore I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich; and white robes to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen; and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19 I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. 20 Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with Me. 21 To the one who conquers I will give a place with Me on My throne, just as I Myself conquered and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches." "God Knows" When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts... God knows how hard you have tried. When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish... God has counted your tears. If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by... God is waiting with you. When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call... God is by your side. When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn... God has a solution. When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated... God has the answer. If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope... God has whispered to you. When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for... God has blessed you. When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe... God has smiled upon you. When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow... God has opened your eyes and called you by name. Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing... GOD KNOWS -- Unknown -- Psalms 139:1-18 1 O LORD, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. 3 You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment You know where I am. 4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. 5 You both precede and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know! 7 I can never escape from Your Spirit! I can never get away from Your presence! 8 If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I go down to the place of the dead, You are there. 9 If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, 10 even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me. 11 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night -- 12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from You. To You the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are both alike to You. 13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous -- and how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! 18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, You are still with me! -- 1 Samuel 16:7b ... The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. -- Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts. -- Proverbs 16:2 People may be pure in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their motives. -- Psalms 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. -- Isaiah 55:8-13 8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12 You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song and the trees of the field will clap their hands! 13 Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where briers grew, myrtles will sprout up. This miracle will bring great honor to the LORD’s Name; it will be an everlasting sign of His power and love." -- Jeremiah 29:11-13 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart." -- Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." -- John 10:14-15, 27-30 14 I am the Good Shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me. 15 Just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father -- and I lay down My life for the sheep. + 27 My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are One. -- 1 Corinthians 2:9-12 9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." 10 But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, and His Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God’s deep secrets. 11 No one can know what anyone else is really thinking except that person alone, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. 12 And God has actually given us His Spirit (not the world’s spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. -- Romans 1:9 God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you (in my prayers) Without God the End is hopeless But with God there is endless Hope. No one is hopeless who hopes is in God. God said it, I believe it, that settles it! + "God said it ..... that settles it!" (It really doesn't matter if I believe it or not!) Those who walk with God always reach their destination. Happiness is in Heaven, but the joy is in the journey. Thank God for what you have. Trust God for what you need. Never ask God to bless what His word calls sin. Prayer is talking to God. Meditation (His Word) is listening to God. Reference: + "God Alone Knows - and Judges" + |
