("How To Receive Christ")

-- 2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, + 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ++ 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

-- Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Sometimes I Forget

Sometimes I forget
I do not mean to, but I do
  The only thing that really matters
  I forget what Jesus did for me

Saved me from an endless hell
An eternity of suffering and pain
He's set my feet on streets of gold
An eternity of peace and joy

All of this He did for me
And sometimes I forget
For days, I do not give Him praise
Nor worship His Holy name

The most gracious gift ever gave
The most precious promise ever kept
A Savior I will send to you
What the law was not meant to do
He will do for you

I should shout it from the mountains
Sing it with every breath
Saved thank God, I am saved
The blood of Jesus was shed for me

His grace, is all I have
And all I'll ever need
Forgive me Jesus
But sometimes, I forget

-- Psalm 33:3-4
3 Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully, and shout for joy.
4 For the Word of the LORD is right and true;
He is faithful in all He does.

-- 2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.

-- Ephesians 1:2-14
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love 5 He predestined us to be adopted as His children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will -- 6 to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. ++ 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9 And He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment -- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. ++ 11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession -- to the praise of His glory.

My Strength Cometh

My strength cometh from the Lord; and I walk ever so humbly by faith. Though I am weak in fleshly appearance by body …and sometimes mind and body - my spirit is strong. It is rooted deep in the heavens of faith in that which I cannot see, but know is there. I have stood in awe at the representation of God’s love in nature…deep within forests and atop views of mountains. With certainty I have seen the simplicity and beauty of Christ’s love manifested in the heart of a friend and the laughter of children…as beautiful as an Easter Lily’s Bloom. -- Robin Ferguson

-- Ecclesiastes 12:1
Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come, and the years draw near when you will say, "I have no pleasure in them."

REMEMBER IN YOUTH THY CREATOR

1. Remember in youth thy Creator,
Give heed to the voice of His Word;
For happy are they who believe Him,
And trust in the arm of the Lord.

Refrain:
Remember in youth thy Creator,
How gentle His goodness and care;
The best of His blessings He offers,
The gift of His love you may share.

2. Remember in youth thy Creator,
Ere days that are evil draw nigh;
And years that afford us no pleasure
Shall chase the bright beams from our sky.

>> Refrain

3. He claims our affection in childhood,
He offers the gift of His love;
O then let us earnestly seek Him,
And lay up our treasure above.

>> Refrain

-- Psalm 139:1-5
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul;
All my inmost being, praise His holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from the pit
And crowns you with love and compassion,
5 Who satisfies your desires with good things
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

-- Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

-- James 1:22-25
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it -- he will be blessed in what he does.

-- 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

-- 2 Peter 3:8-9
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

-- Deuteronomy 4:5-9
5 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. 6 Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people." ++ 7 What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to Him? ++ 8 And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today? +++ 9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

-- Psalm 139:1-18; 23-24
1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. ++ 7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light about me; 12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. 13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. ++ 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. ..... ++ 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

-- Isaiah 49:15-16
15 Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the child of her womb?
Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.
16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.

-- Isaiah 25:1
O LORD, You are my God;
I will exalt You and praise Your name,
For in perfect faithfulness You have done marvelous things,
Things planned long ago.
