("How To Receive Christ")

-- Jeremiah 33:3
Call to Me and I will answer you,
And will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

-- Matthew 6:9-13
9 This, then, is how you should Pray:
"+ Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. + 10 Your kingdom come. + Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. + 11 Give us this day our daily bread. + 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. + 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. + For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

-- Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by Prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Call Him Father and Ask

Through out our lives
When darkness
Falls all around.

Confusion sets
In and brings our
World, tumbling down.

Call for help
From above,

Call Him Father
And ask -
For His love.

Call Him Father
And ask for
What you need.

Call Him Father
And no longer
Will your emotions
Bleed.

It is written
In His Words.

Call Him Father
And ask -
If you want to be
Heard.

Call out to God
And He will
Reply.

Call Him Father
And ask.

His love will
never deny.

Call Him Father
And ask
For what your
Heart desires.

Call Him Father
And His blessings
Will rain down
In refreshing
Showers.

Call Him Father
And ask
When you are in
Doubt.

Finally learn
What His love
Is all about.

Just Call Him Father.
And Pray.

-- Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you;
Seek and you will find;
Knock and the door will be opened to you.

-- 1 John 5:14-15
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

++ -- 1 Chronicles 4:10    [Jabez's Prayer]
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil (sin, trouble, harm, hurt,...) so that I will be free from pain (and sorrow)!" So God granted him what he requested.

PRAY, PRAY

Pray, Pray, when things go wrong,
And gloomy fears around you throng;
The loving God your voice will hear,
Look up to Him, He’s always near.

Refrain:
Pray, Pray though your eyes grow dim,
Go with your troubles straight to Him;
Pray, Pray, for God understands;
Have faith, leaving all in His dear hands.

Pray, Pray, be calm and still,
Whatever comes must be His will;
His promises like buds unfold,
Naught that is good will He withhold.
Refrain >>

Pray, Pray till faith grows strong,
And in your heart rings Heaven’s song;
Till self shall die in pure desire,
And every thought to Him aspire.
Refrain

-- Psalms 55:16-17
16 But I call to God, and the LORD saves me.
17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.

-- 1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

-- Jude 1:20-21
20 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and Pray in the Holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

DID YOU THINK TO PRAY?

Before you left your room this morning,
Did you think to Pray?
In the name of Christ our Savior,
Did you sue for loving favor,
As a shield today?

Refrain:
O how Praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day;
So when life seems dark and dreary,
Don’t forget to Pray.

When you met with great temptation,
Did you think to Pray?
By His dying love and merit,
Did you claim the Holy Spirit
As your guide and stay?
Refrain >>

When your heart was filled with anger,
Did you think to Pray?
Did you plead for grace, my brother,
That you might forgive another
Who had crossed your way?
Refrain >>

When sore trials came upon you,
Did you think to Pray?
When your soul was bowed in sorrow,
Balm of Gilead did you borrow
At the gates of day?
Refrain >>

The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.

-- Mark 11:25
And when you stand Praying, if you hold anything against anyone, Forgive; so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

LORD, TEACH US HOW TO PRAY ARIGHT

Lord, teach us how to Pray aright,
With reverence and with fear;
Though dust and ashes in Your sight,
We may, we must draw near.

We perish if we cease from Prayer;
O grant us power to Pray;
And when to meet You we prepare,
Lord, meet us by the way.

God of all grace, we come to You
With broken, contrite hearts;
Give what Your eye delights to see,
Truth in the inward parts.

Faith in the only sacrifice
That can for sin atone;
To cast our hopes, to fix our eyes,
On Christ, on Christ alone.

Patience to watch, and wait, and weep,
Though mercy long delay;
Courage our fainting souls to keep,
And trust Your though Your Love.

Give these, and then Your will be done,
Thus, strengthened with all might,
We, through Your Spirit and Your Son,
Shall Pray, and Pray aright.

-- James Montgomery

-- Psalms 86:1-12
1 O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. 2 Guard my life, for I am devoted to You. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You. 3 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long. 4 Bring joy to Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 5 You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to You. 6 Hear my Prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. 7 In the day of my trouble I will call to You, for You will answer me. 8 Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; no deeds can compare with Yours. 9 All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your name. 10 For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God.
++ 11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name. 12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.

Jesus, Captain of Life’s Sea

I have a friend in Jesus
Who guides me through the gale
A first mate and a skipper
Who helps me to set sail.

He offers strength and guidance
A helmsman at the wheel
An ever-steady beam of light
A fortress made of steel.

He’s the master of the ocean
My refuge and my rock
A harbor that I turn to
My anchor at life’s dock.

He’s a mighty sailing warrior
A helping hand indeed
A pilot through the churning waves
He meets my every need.

He’s the One I always run to
When the waves won’t let me be
The lighthouse that I turn to
On a rough and troubled sea.

He’s a smoothly sailing vessel
A refuge from the storm
The gentle breeze that sends me to
An island, sweet and warm.

He’s a brave and fearless skipper
A shelter from the heat
Water when I’m thirsty
A vessel filled with wheat.

He’s a sure and steady sailor
My Captain on life’s sea
No matter where I journey
He goes along with me.

-- John 1:1, 12
+ 1 In the beginning was the Word (the Logos, Messiah, Jesus Christ),
And the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
+ 12 But to all who received Him, who believed in His name,
He gave the right to become children of God.

-- John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me."

-- John 15:5
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.

-- Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

-- Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

-- John 14:15-16; 26-27
15 If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever --
+ 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

-- Matthew 8:26-27
26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of Man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him!"

-- Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

-- Zechariah 4:6
"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,"
says the LORD Almighty.

-- Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Pray to Father God, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit

-- Psalms 10:17
O LORD, You will hear the desire of the meek;
You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear

-- Psalms 50:15
Call on Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

-- Psalms 86:5
For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on You.

-- Psalms 145:18-19
18 The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desire of all who fear Him; He also hears their cry, and saves them.

-- 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
14 If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and Pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the Prayers offered in this place.

-- Isaiah 55:6-7
6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near;
7 let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the LORD, that He may have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

-- Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and Pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

-- Mark 11:24
So I tell you, whatever you ask for in Prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

-- John 14:13-14
13 I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If in My name you ask Me for anything, I will do it.

-- John 15:7, 16
7 If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. ++ 16 You did not choose Me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask Him in My name.

-- John 16:23-24
23 On that day you will ask nothing of Me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the 23 Father in My name, He will give it to you. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

-- Romans 8:26-28
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to Pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints (believers) in accordance with God’s will.
++ 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

-- Ephesians 6:18
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your Prayers for all believers everywhere.

-- Matthew 18:19
Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.

-- James 5:13-16
13 Is any one of you in trouble? He should Pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to Pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the Prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and Pray for each other so that you may be healed.
++ The Prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.

-- 1 Timothy 2:1-6
1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, Prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: ++ 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, ++ 4 Who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth. ++ 5 For there is One God and One Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 Who gave Himself as a ransom for all men -- the testimony given in its proper time.

-- Colossians 1:3-6
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we Pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints -- 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the Word of truth, the Gospel 6 that has come to you. All over the world this Gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth.

-- Philemon 1:3-7
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my Prayers, 5 because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. 6 I Pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.

-- 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
11 With this in mind, we constantly Pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. 12 We Pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
