06.20.10: Light for the Day - "Blessed Father's Day" (Viet) (<<) (>>) (PRINT) http://LFTD.ORG (VN) (C1) (C2) (Ko) (Sp) (Fr) (It) (De) (Ru) (Ar) ("How To Receive Christ") + Bible NT Books Summary And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. -- Galatians 3:26 For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through Faith. The Greatest Father of All The Greatest Father ever was Dwells in the heavens, up above. He gave us His only begotten Son, Who paid sin's price for everyone. You know, it had to cause God grief; As His Son suffered beyond belief. But, God knew that His Son's sacrifice Would bring us all eternal life. He felt the pain His son went through; Was worth it all, for me and you. And, even Jesus didn't count the cost, As His Life's Blood drained from that old cross. So, let's all wish our Heavenly Father A Happy Father's Day And thank Him for His great sacrifice, As we bow our heads to pray. Happy Father's Day! To the Greatest Father of all -- Vickie Lambdin -- John 3:16-17 16 For God so loved the world that He Gave His One and Only Son, that whoever Believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life. 17 For God did not Send His Son into the world to Condemn the world, but to Save the world Through Him. -- Romans 8:14-16 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, "Abba! Father!" 16 it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, -- Proverb 23:22, 25 22 Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. 25 May your father and mother be glad; May she who gave you birth rejoice! Father's Day and Mother's Day are popular and widely known celebration.Father's Day is also a special day for Christians honoring and celebrating our loving and holy Father God, through the salvation Faith in Jesus Christ, and the spiritual witnessing of the Holy Spirit. -- Galatians 3:26 For you are all children of God through Faith in Christ Jesus. -- Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. The greatest gift I ever had came from God; I call him Dad! Father! - to God Himself we cannot give a Holier Name. -- William Wordsworth We are given children to test us and make us more spiritual. One night a father overheard his child pray: Dear God, Make me the kind of person my Daddy is. Later that night, the Father prayed, Dear God, Make me the kind of man You want me to be for my children. A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society. -- Billy Graham It is much easier to become a father than to be one. -- K.Nerburn Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father! -- Lydia M. A daughter is a gift of love. Daughters are like flowers, they fill the world with beauty, and sometimes attract pests. Watching your daughter being collected by her date feels like handing over a million dollar Stradivarius to a gorilla. -- Jim Bishop Every mother hopes that her daughter will marry a better man than she did, and is convinced that her son will never find a wife as good as his father did. -- Martin Andersen-Nexö To a father growing old nothing is dearer than a daughter. -- Euripides A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart. To her the name of father was another name for love. -- Fanny Fern Old as she was, she still missed her daddy sometimes. -- Gloria Naylor Fathers, in most families, are our special unsung heroes. They rarely ever get their fair share of adulation. Let Father's Day be your way to spread the message of love. Life which is soon past, Only what’s done with love will last. What Makes a Dad? God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagles flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, The God combined these qualities, And then there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it -- Dad. -- Anonymous A Special Father A special father, in God’s eyes, is one who lives to see... that all his children love the Lord, and act accordingly. It doesn't matter who he is, or the money that he’s earned... God cares about a father’s heart, and the godly things he’s learned. So, Fathers, teach your children, to find joy in simple things... in reverence to God’s blessings and the happiness He brings. And when they have their children, they’ll raise them just like you... to love and praise God daily, the way you taught them to. -- Jill Lemming. Dads Delightful and loving, Loved and admired, Dad, you're my hero, My life you've inspired. And when all my blessings Are counted each day, I thank God in heaven For Dad when I pray. Dad thanks for your presence Throughout thick and thin; You're more than a parent, You're my wonderful friend. ~ Ken Brown Dad, I Love You Walk a little slower, Daddy, Said a little child so small. I'm following in your footsteps And I don't want to fall. Sometimes your steps are very fast, Sometimes they are hard to see; So, walk a little slower, Daddy, For you are leading me. Someday when I'm all grown up, You're what I want to be; Then I will have a little child Who'll want to follow me. And I would want to lead just right, And know that I was true; So walk a little slower, Daddy, For I must follow you. Did I ever say thanks for all the toys you mended, games we played, outings to the park, and the way you always tried to cheer me when I was down? Did I ever say thanks for the sacrifices you made so I could be involved in so many enriching activities? Did I ever say thanks for working so hard to provide for our family? Did I ever say thanks for having such faith in me and always being there when I needed you? Most of all, Did I ever say thanks for caring? Dad, I Love You -- Anonymous -- Proverbs 22:6 Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it. What Is A Dad? A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up, brushes you off, and lets you try again. A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt. A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail... Dad, you're everything a dad should be and some. -- Susan Ceylise Fathers seldom say "I love you" Fathers seldom say "I love you" Though the feeling's always there, But somehow those three little words Are the hardest ones to share. And fathers say "I love you" In ways that words can't match - With tender bedtime stories - Or a friendly game of catch! You can see the words "I love you" In a father's boyish eyes When he runs home, all excited, With a poorly wrapped surprise. A father says "I love you" With his strong helping hands - With a smile when you're in trouble With the way he understands. He says "I love you" haltingly, With awkward tenderness - (It's hard to help a four-year-old into a party dress!) He speaks his love unselfishly By giving all he can To make some secret dream come true, Or follow through a plan. A father's seldom-spoken love Sounds clearly through the years - Sometimes in peals of laughter, Sometimes through happy tears. Perhaps they have to speak their love In a fashion all their own. Because the love that fathers feel Is too big for words alone! -- Anonymous -- John 15:9-11 9 As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. 10 If you obey My commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commands and remain in His love. 11 I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. -- Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. -- Luke 11:2-4 (Mat. 6:9-13) 2 So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one." Father And Son Conversation A father was having trouble getting his son to cut his long hair. When the boy asked to borrow the family car. The father said, "You may borrow the car when you cut your hair." Later that same evening the father passed by the son's room where he was stretched out on the bed reading the Bible. He said, "Dad, did you know it says here that Jesus never cut His hair?" His dad said, "Yes, son, and if you read further, you notice it says He walked everywhere He went." Fathers Then (1900) & Now (21st Century) Today is the Father's Days.
