Sep 15.97: Light For The Day - "Earnestly in Prayer"
One who takes time for prayer will find time
for other things. - Anon.

"Continue earnestly in prayer,
being vigilant in it with thankgiving." - Col 4:2 (NKJV)
"Devote yourselves to prayer,
being watchful and thankful." - Colossians 4:2 (NIV)

Life Application Bible Notes:
Have you ever grown tired of praying for something or
someone? Paul says we should "devote" ourselves
to prayer and be "watchful" in prayer. Our persistence
is an expression of our faith that God answers our
prayers. Faith shouldn't die if the answers come
slowly, fro the delay may be God way of working his
will in our lives. When you feel tired of praying, know
that God is present, always listening, always answering
- may be not in ways you had hoped, but in ways that
he knows are best.

" You will seek me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart."
- Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great
and unsearchable things you do not know."
- Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)
"Ask and it will be given to you;
Seek and you will find;
Knock and the door wil be opened to you."
- Matthew 7:7 (NIV)
"Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation;
the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. "
- Matthew 26:41(RSV)

O Lord! You know how busy I must be this day:
if I forget Thee, do not forget me.
- Sir Jacob Astley
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is
daily admission of one's weakness. . . . It is better in
prayer to have a heart without words than words
without a heart. - Mohandas K. Gandhi
