Sep 24.97: Light For The Day - "Christian's Family"
Christian homes don't just happen -- they're built.
The family is one of God's masterpieces. - Anon.

2Samuael 7:29 (NIV):
"Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant,
that it may continue forever in your sight ......"

"Christian's Family"
A part from religious influence, the family is the most
important unit of society. It would be good if every
home were Christian, but we know that it is not so.
The family and the home can never exert their proper
influence while ignoring the biblical standard.
The Bible calls for discipline and a recognition of
authority. If children do not learn this at home, they
will go out into society without the proper attitude
toward authority and law. There is always the
exceptional child, but the average tells us that the
child is largely what the home has made him.
The only way to provide the right home for your
children is to put the Lord above them, and fully
instruct them in the ways of the Lord. You are
responsible before God for the home you provide
for them.
Prayer:
Father, keep me from any word or deed that might
hinder a child from loving You.
-- Billy Braham"
Proverbs 22:6 (RSV): "Train up a child in the way he
should go, and when he is old he will not depart
from it. "

Joshua 24:15 (RSV): "And if you be unwilling to
serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will
serve, ...... but as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD."
Acts 10:2 (NIV): "He (Cornelius) and all his family
were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously
to those in need and prayed to God regularly.
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 (NIV):
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your strength. 6- These
commandments that I give you today are to be upon
your hearts. 7- Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you
walk along the road, when you lie down and when you
get up."
----------------
In dwelling, live close to the ground.
In thinking, keep to the simple.
In conflict, be fair and generous.
In governing, don't try to control.
In work, do what you enjoy.
IN FAMILY LIFE, BE COMPLETELY PRESENT.
- Tao Te Ching
We are always too busy for our children; we never
give them the time or interest they deserve.
We lavish gifts upon them; but the most precious
gift, our personal association, which means so much
to them, we give grudgingly."
- Mark Twain
Some families can trace their ancestors back three
hundred years, but can't tell you where their children
were last night. - Anonymous
