Nov 19.98: Light For The Day - "Are We All Just Little Sparrows?"

"Aren't five sparrows sold for two pennies?
Yet not one sparrow is forgotten by God.
Even the hairs of your head have all been
counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth
much more than many sparrows."
-- Luke 12:6 (TEV)

"Are We All Just Little Sparrows ?"

I will not sit a squabble about who's God is right,
I will not sit and argue over who has seen the light.
For all of us have deep within a special little place,
Far from this reality, removed from time and space.

A secret little closet hidden deep within our hearts,
Where doors to heaven open and we can be a part,
Of all the love that freely flows if only we would see,
And take hold of the golden cord to set our spirits free.

So many gifts we're given, we don't even realize,
We chase after illusions which we can idolize.
Never giving credit or thanks where it is due,
We hide from our creator and stay safely out of view.

Like sparrows safe within the flock of others all around,
Too afraid to enter in where light and love is found.
We follow nature's courses set for us at our birth,
Minding rules of instinct which bind us to this earth.

I will not fly in panic when sudden change takes place,
I will not forget the loving kindness placed before my face.
For even though I feel the fear of the great unknown,
I'll make attempts to love and trust the light I have been shown.

I'll calm my trembling little wings and use my conscious will,
To stand within the given light upon the window sill.
I'll take God's love that's offered there,
though one I have not earned,
And hopefully show others the things that I have learned!

"Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor
reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly
Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
