Dec. 11.98: Light For The Day - "Don't You Hear the Knock?"
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."
-- Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
---------------------
"Don't You Hear the Knock?"
I'm hanging ribbons all around,
I'm calling up my kin-
Won't you help me celebrate?
I've just been born again!
You see, I once was dead,
Consumed by a world of sin-
But Jesus knocked on my heart,
Saying, "Won't you let me in?"
He knocked for quite a while,
Ever so patient was He-
I pretended not to hear Him,
But He never gave up on me.
I fell upon my knees one day,
I could resist no more!
Jesus was patiently waiting
When I unlocked the door.
I couldn't believe He hadn't gone
All the while I was astray-
He brushed away my tears
And said "I've waited for this day".
He came into my heart,
Peace filled me from within-
He showered me with love
And washed away my sin.
Oh friends, listen closely,
Don't you hear His knock?
Let Jesus into your life today-
Open up the lock!

"We must thanks God at all times for you, friends,
you whom the LORD loves. For God chose you
as the first to be saved by the Spirit's power to
make you his holy people and by your faith in
the truth.
God called you to this through the Good News
we preached to you; he called you to possess
your share of the glory of our LORD Jesus Christ."
-- 2Thessalonians 2:13,14 (TEV)
