Nov 04.99: Light for The Day - "Repenting Of Wrong"
"The LORD is not slow in keeping His promise,
as some understand slowness. He is patient
with you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance."
-- 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
-------------------
No one is happier than the one who has
sincerely repented of wrong. Repentance is
the decision to turn from selfish desires and
seek God. It is a genuine, sincere regret
that creates sorrow and moves us to admit
wrong and desire to do better.
It's an inward conviction that expresses itself
in outward actions.
You look at the love of God and you can't believe
he's loved you like he has, and this realization
motivates you to change your life. That is the
nature of repentance.
-- Max Lucado
Prayer:
Blessed LORD and God, we come to you,
aware that you have pierced our world.
You became flesh, you dwelled among us,
you saw us in our fallen state, you reached
in and pulled us out. You offered us forgiveness.

"Whoever accepts correction is on the way to life,
but whoever ignores correction will lead otheres
away from life."
-- Proverbs 10:17
